Jumble Sale

We’re holding a Jumble Sale at the village hall on 20th January, to raise funds for our preschool. If you’re having a clear out over Christmas it could be the perfect place to donate your unwanted items. We’ll also be serving tea and cake, so do why not come and have a cuppa and a browse! All proceeds will go to Haslingfield Little Owls Preschool.

We’re also looking for more volunteers to help us on the day – if you’d be willing to help us out for an hour or two by sorting jumble, running a stall or clearing up afterwards then we’d love to hear from you, please email: alison@haslingfieldlittleowls.org.uk

Bonfire Night & Fireworks Display

Haslingfield Little Owls and 6th / 17th Cambridge Scouts are excited to be hosting their annual Bonfire Night & Fireworks Display on Saturday 4th November.

This is our biggest fundraising event of the year and a selection of refreshments and home-cooked food will be on sale on the night – including hotdogs, filled jacket potatoes, soups and cakes. In the interests of safety we ask that you don’t bring any fireworks or sparklers to the event.

Tickets are available NOW from Haslingfield Village shop and via the Scouts (see poster). There will also be a limited number of tickets available on the gate.

Job vacancy!

We are looking for an Early Years Practitioner to join our wonderful community preschool in the heart of Haslingfield, on a permanent basis.

The role will involve being 3rd in charge and having overall responsibility for running the setting in the absence of the management team. This will be for between two and five days per week (term time only), with a working pattern to be agreed with the successful applicant. Please see the job description and person specification for details: JD + PS Senior Practitioner 3rd In Charge Summer 2023

We put children at the heart of our approach, offering a caring and creative environment and encouraging their independence. Our beautiful outdoor learning area is enhanced by our climbing tree and a range of resources to help our Little Owls learn and develop; and we actively promote heuristic play, natural resources, loose parts play and follow a “Hygge in the Early Years” curriculum.

We work hard to minimise paperwork, using Tapestry for online learning journals and a regular newsletter to foster parent relationships, and we prioritise the continuing professional development of our employees. In our last Ofsted report (June 2022) we were rated “Good” across all four categories, with a number of outstanding elements noted.

We are a registered charity and play an important part in our local community, with a long history of supportive families and a committee who are involved in the day-to-day running of the setting.

Haslingfield Little Owls Preschool is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. It is a requirement of all staff that they share this commitment and follow the prescribed policy and procedures to continuously promote a culture of safeguarding across the whole organisation.

We are committed to making our recruitment process accessible and inclusive. If you would like to receive information in a different format or have any adjustments you would like us to make to the process for you, then please let us know.

For more information about this role and other opportunities with us, or to apply, please contact: chair@haslingfieldlittleowls.org.uk.

Interviews will be arranged as we receive applications, and we anticipate the successful candidate will start with us during the Autumn term of 2023.

NEW Opening Hours!

We are excited to announce that we will be extending our opening hours from September 2023! In addition to our five morning sessions, we will be offering three afternoon sessions per week. These will be on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, where we will be open until 3pm; and we will also be continuing with our popular lunch club.

If you would like to find out more about our opening hours or register your child for a place, please get in touch. Email: manager@haslingfieldlittleowls.org.uk or call us on 07704 908109.

Open Morning

We will be holding an Open Morning on Thursday 6th July 9:30-10:30 , where prospective families are welcome to come and view the setting, meet the staff and see what we offer at Little Owls.

If you can’t make 6th July don’t worry, you can book a visit for another day. To book your place or arrange a visit, please email office@haslingfieldlittleowls.org.uk.

We hope to see you there!
